Y is a young man in his twenties from Sri Lanka. His father and brother were killed in front of him and his mother died in a car accident. Alone, he fled.

He is a very talented musician, having finished more than three years of a four year course in music. He has had many ups and downs since he arrived in Australia, among which has been a serious breakdown and a time in hospital. He is on a Bridging Visa E awaiting the next round of legal decisions.

Not being allowed to work means that people like Y are alternatively bored and depressed.
